The most important next step is to connect with your Enrollment Specialist. They will serve as your primary guide through the final stages of the admission process, helping you with:

  • Transcript evaluation: Your Enrollment Specialist will review your previous academic history to provide a personalized estimate of how many transfer credits may apply toward your new degree.

Tuition for Walden’s online psychology programs vary based on your specific program and specialization.

  • Fees and residencies: Depending on your degree level and program of study, your costs may include technology fees or costs associated with required academic residencies, labs, or intensives.

Is a psychology degree worth it? What can I do with a psychology degree?

A psychology degree is a versatile and valuable credential that can open doors across many industries. Since psychology focuses on the science of human behavior, motivation, and critical thinking, the skills you gain are highly sought after by employers in both clinical and non-clinical fields.

Whether you earn your degree from Walden or another online psychology school, career opportunities depend largely on your level of education and whether you choose to pursue professional licensure.

Here is a general look at career paths by degree level:

  • Bachelor’s (entry-level): With an undergraduate psychology degree, you can enter a variety of fields including business administration, market research, sales, and social services. Your understanding of human behavior and motivation can help you understand people’s needs, analyze customer behavior, build relationships, and communicate more effectively in the workplace.
  • Master’s (professional level): A master’s degree  in psychology empowers you to use the latest research to improve the lives of others in non-clinical roles—and also prepares you academically for doctoral-level study. People with a master’s in psychology can work in a range of settings, including nonprofit organizations, healthcare agencies, group homes, and child and family service organizations.
  • Doctoral (expert level): A PhD or PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) degree allows for the highest level of autonomy and specialization in the psychology field. Psychology PhD programs are often chosen by people seeking careers in academia, consulting, administration, or advanced research, as well as those who want to practice as licensed psychologists in clinical settings.

Career options may require additional experience, training, or other factors beyond the successful completion of a degree program.
