Walden’s Transfer of Credit Process
Walden has made the process of transferring credits as simple as possible.
-
Apply Online and Answer a Few Questions
When you apply online, you’ll be asked if you would like to transfer credits. You may be eligible if you’ve taken courses for college credits, have a professional certification relevant to your desired program, and/or passed relevant examinations for graduate-level subjects (e.g., GRE, CPA).
-
Submit Your Transcripts
Official transcripts are required to finalize your admission and transfer-of-credit eligibility. If you haven’t already, request your official transcripts from the previous institutions you’ve attended. While you wait for your official transcripts to arrive at Walden, you can submit unofficial transcripts to expedite a preliminary transfer-of-credit evaluation.
-
Get a Transfer-of-Credit Evaluation
When you receive your offer of admission to Walden, you’ll get a transfer-of-credit evaluation—a service that we provide at no charge.
-
Review Your Approved Transfer-of-Credit Offer With Your Enrollment Specialist
Once your transfer-of-credit evaluation is complete, you will be notified of the total number of transferable credits available to you. Based on that information, you will also receive an updated tuition estimate. You can then review your plan of study with your Enrollment Specialist and discuss the estimated length of your program and tuition savings.

-

Credits to be evaluated for transfer from other educational institutions must be earned and recorded on an official transcript. These credits must be from a school that was accredited by a regional, professional/specialized, or national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or the U.S. Department of Education at the time the course was completed or from an appropriately accredited institution outside the United States.

If you have credits from one of the institutions or organizations listed below, you may be able to transfer credits into a Walden degree program, which means you will be able to save time and money as you earn your next degree. Click on the links below to see which courses might transfer:
