Background

Dr. Nelson joined Walden in 2010 and currently teaches Introduction to Counseling and Counseling Techniques. In addition to teaching at Walden, she has worked for the past 15 years in academic and student affairs at a large public university. As a result of her advocacy for students, she researches variables that influence student success and retention. She recently started a social change organization called Heels By Wheels. The organization collects and distributes business attire from community members to donate to women in need.
