Courses
In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.
Disclaimers: Walden students have up to 8 years to complete their doctoral program unless they petition for an extension.
In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Students must also publish their dissertation on ProQuest before their degree is conferred. Learn more about the dissertation process in the Dissertation Guidebook.

Discover career opportunities in your area that match your interests.
From time to time, we all feel the need to do some serious career mapping. Whether you’re thinking about moving to a new company or climbing the ranks where you’re currently working, the one key tool most of us struggle to perfect is our résumé. And yet, a well written résumé has the power to get you the interviews you want, faster. Here are nine best practices that can help ensure your résumé stands out.
Taking your résumé from good to great requires effort and attention to detail. The time you dedicate to it up-front can easily pay off in the form of interviews and job offers.
Of course, one of the best assets you can show on any résumé is education. A valuable degree program can turn great résumés into winning résumés. If you’re currently working and are considering earning a degree, one great option is online learning. One of the top advantages of online universities is that they allow you to complete the majority of your college education from home. Plus, earning a degree online can give you the flexibility you need to continue working full time and/or taking care of other responsibilities. Unlike campus-based classes, online classes don’t meet at specific times of the day. Instead, online courses let you attend classes when and where it works best for your schedule.
Through online learning, you can find the right degree program from the right accredited university and gain the convenience and flexibility you need to successfully earn a degree.
