Walden University Introduces Online Certificate Programs in Project Management and Education

Minneapolis—February 15, 2011—Walden University announced today the addition of five new online certificate programs to prepare working professionals for emerging opportunities in the increasingly demanding fields of project management and education. Walden’s new online certificate programs provide practical knowledge and relevant skills that can be applied immediately in the workplace.

A Registered Education Provider for the Project Management Institute (PMI)®, Walden now offers a Graduate Certificate in Applied Project Management for students to gain the fundamental skills needed to manage projects in almost any industry or field. A Graduate Certificate in Advanced Project Management is also being offered for experienced project managers to enhance advanced skills and strategic perspective in preparation for career growth. Designed to be completed in as little as six months, these certificates also position students for PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP)^® certification exam. All credits earned from the project management certificates may be applied toward Walden’s MS in Project Management degree program.

To meet the increasing demand for qualified college instructors, Walden is now offering a Graduate Certificate in College Teaching and Learning where students study the major steps in the teaching and learning process as well as explore online learning environments to meet the needs of students in the virtual classroom. A Graduate Certificate in Enrollment Management and Institutional Marketing guides students in the development of comprehensive strategies along with communication and marketing tools to promote higher education institutions. Program participants also explore new media solutions to reach today’s students. Both programs can be completed in as little as eight months, and credits earned from these certificate programs may be applied toward the equivalent specialization in Walden’s MS in Higher Education degree program.

Another new certificate includes a Graduate Certificate in Professional Development to help educators build collaboration, facilitation, coaching and mentoring skills and create positive professional development experiences for teachers.
