Dr. Ford is a licensed clinical professional counselor, national certified counselor, and national certified school counselor. She has experience working in a private practice with children, adolescents, and adults on a variety of issues. Dr. Ford is also a school counselor and has worked at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. She has also been a school counselor supervisor.
Professional accomplishments include being named the 2004 Maryland School Counselor Association (MSCA) Elementary School Counselor of the Year, the 2014 MSCA Middle School Counselor of the Year, and a 2015 American School Counselor Association School Counselor of the Year semifinalist.
Dr. Ford served as an advisory team member for the National Office for School Counselor Advocacy. She currently serves as social media chair for the MSCA. She also serves as the chair of the Charles County Commission for Women, which advocates for women and families.
Dr. Ford is a published author and radio talk show host. She has been a contributing faculty member at Walden since 2011.
