In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Colleran holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nursing Education from Regis College, an MSN in Community Health Nursing from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and a BSN from Husson College/Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine.
Dr. Colleran is a past president for the American Nurses Association Massachusetts. In addition, she is a member in good standing of the Sigma Theta Tau, Theta Chapter, International Honor Society of Nursing.
Dr. Colleran is an LANP (Leadership for Academic Nursing Program) Fellow, 2014 and a Health Information Technology Scholars program (HITS) Faculty Scholar, 2009. Dr. Colleran was inducted into Husson University Alumni Hall of Fame, 2010 and is a 2010 recipient of the Foundation of National Student Nurses Association, Promise of Nursing Regional Faculty Fellowship.
Dr. Colleran has extensive background in Quality & Safety in Nursing practice as evidenced by her participation in the QSEN National Forums.
Dr. Colleran has mentored both Master's students and doctoral candidates over the last several years.
Dr. Colleran is a Caritas Caring Science Coach
Her interests include Community/Public Health, Care of Veterans, Health Policy and Legislation.
