Walden University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (www.hlcommission.org), an institutional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Accreditation is a mark of quality. Walden has been accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) since 1990.
Being accredited by the HLC validates that our institution lives its mission, operates with integrity, offers programs that focus on student learning, hires faculty that are academically qualified, and provides the resources and support necessary for our students to succeed. Walden curricula also include interactive multimedia simulations woven into a number of programs. An accredited university, Walden has further distinguished itself as being the sixth institution approved by the U.S. government to offer direct assessment competency-based education. For transfer of credit into undergraduate programs,* you must have earned credit:
- At any time in the past, with the exception of selected technology courses.
- With a posted grade of a C (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) or higher.
- That aligns with applicable program or degree requirements.
For transfer of credit into graduate programs,* you must have earned credit:
- Within 10 years of enrolling in your Walden program.
- With a posted grade of a B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) or higher.
- That aligns with applicable program or degree requirements.
