Courses
In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.
Disclaimers: Walden students have up to 8 years to complete their doctoral program unless they petition for an extension.
In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Students must also publish their dissertation on ProQuest before their degree is conferred. Learn more about the dissertation process in the Dissertation Guidebook.

Traditionally, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) takes two years of schooling. If you’re a business professional, that might seem like too much of a time and cost commitment. After all, even if you enroll in one of the top MBA programs at one of the best business schools, taking two years off from work might set you back, particularly if you’re already in management. But what if there was a way to earn an MBA degree faster and for less money, all without leaving your current job?
Thanks to Walden University’s One-Year Fast-Track MBA option, there is.
With Walden’s One-Year Fast-Track MBA option, you could complete your business administration master’s in just 12 months.1 That’s because Walden’s One-Year Fast-Track MBA allows you to double up on your coursework, giving you the ability to complete all the degree requirements in a year.
Earning a master’s in business administration is already like earning a business administration degree combined with a management degree, so it makes a lot of sense to study multiple topics at the same time. With Walden’s One-Year Fast-Track option, you can take two courses every eight weeks, which will typically require 20 to 30 hours of your time each week. You’ll want to make sure you have enough time to devote to your coursework, and Walden's online format helps make fitting your studies into your schedule less complicated than you might think.
In addition to giving you the opportunity to earn an MBA degree in just one year, Walden also provides the flexibility of online learning, which lets you complete your degree from home or from anywhere you have internet access. Additionally, online MBA programs give you the freedom to choose when in the day you attend class, making it possible to coordinate your school schedule with your work schedule.
If you keep up with your courses, you’ll complete your One-Year Fast-Track MBA degree in fewer terms than it would take to complete the degree in a traditional program. That saves you money and can provide a nice savings when you consider you’ll graduate with the same level of education and the same degree. If you’re looking to further your education, Walden’s One-Year Fast-Track MBA could be the perfect opportunity for you.
