CHICAGO – June 22, 2022 – Walden University, a pioneer in distance learning, announces a new agreement with the International Public Safety Association (IPSA) to provide tuition-assistance and grant opportunities for IPSA members who want to further their education in public safety.
The agreement applies to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs in criminal justice, public health, human services, nonprofit leadership and public administration.
Walden University is an HLC accredited institution offering more than 100 degree and certificate programs in a convenient, flexible online learning format. Areas of study include nursing, education, counseling, business, psychology, public health, social work and human services, public administration and public policy, criminal justice, and more.
“Through our partner-first approach and fully integrated education solutions, IPSA members who work in public policy, criminal justice and public health will benefit from tuition assistance and other supports,” said Dr. Andrea Lindell, vice provost and dean at Walden University. “We are pleased this partnership will help IPSA members work toward success. At Walden University, we believe in the power of education to transform lives. We help working professionals eliminate financial barriers, access our online degree programs and realize their higher education goals.”
Established in July 2014, the International Public Safety Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit public safety association, represents all public safety disciplines: law enforcement, fire service, EMS, telecommunications, public works (water, sanitation, transportation), public health, hospitals, security, private sector, and emergency management.
"The IPSA vision is for a stronger, more integrated public safety community capable of an effective joint response to all incidents. Access to higher education opportunities will ultimately benefit public safety during planning, response and recovery to any type of incident,” said Executive Director Heather R. Cotter.
