In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Minneapolis—August 7, 2012—Walden University announced today seven additional educational partnerships with hospitals and health systems in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota. The alliances enable employees of these organizations to pursue a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree online in more than 65 degree programs with more than 330 specializations and concentrations.
Nurses in these hospitals and health systems can enroll in Walden’s CCNE-accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Completion Program, CCNE-accredited Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program or the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. Registered nurses can also enroll in Walden’s new MSN specializations, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner. These specializations are designed to provide registered nurses with the knowledge and skills they need to assess and manage a variety of patient health issues.
Walden partners with more than 150 domestic and international organizations, including hospitals, health systems, nonprofits, businesses and education organizations and institutions to provide educational opportunities to their employees and members.
The seven new educational partnerships are:
Carle – Carle is an integrated network of healthcare services in Urbana, Ill., and includes the 325-bed regional Carle Foundation Hospital and the Carle Physician Group.
Colquitt Regional Medical Center – Colquitt Regional Medical Center is a 99-bed acute care hospital located in Moultrie, Ga.
Mercy Medical Center – Mercy Medical Center is an 802-bed acute care hospital located on three campuses in Des Moines, Iowa. It is part of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI).
North Memorial Health Care – North Memorial Health Care is based in Minnesota and provides healthcare services via the North Memorial Medical Center and a network of primary care, urgent care and specialty care clinics.
Spalding Regional Medical Center – Spalding Regional Medical Center is a 160-bed acute care facility that serves residents in Spalding, Pike, Lamar, Butts, Fayette and Henry counties in Georgia.
Sylvan Grove Hospital – Sylvan Grove Hospital is a 25-bed facility that serves as the hometown hospital for residents of Butts County, Ga.
Tampa General Hospital – Tampa General Hospital is a 1,018-bed facility serving a dozen counties in west central Florida, with a population of more than four million.
