The Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership Celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week 2011

Since 1984, the National PTA® has designated the first week in May as Teacher Appreciation Week, a time to honor those who dedicate their talent and skills to educating our children.

This year, in celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week, The Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership at Walden University is holding a school supply drive. From May 2–6, Walden administration, staff and faculty are showing their support by bringing unused school supplies to the university’s Minneapolis; Tempe, Ariz.; Los Angeles; Baltimore; and Columbia, Md., offices. The items collected will be donated to local schools in these communities to help ensure teachers are equipped to help students learn and succeed.
