Minneapolis—October 11, 2010—Walden University announced today that it has been designated as a Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.) by the Project Management Institute (PMI)®, the world’s largest, most widely recognized organization serving the project management profession. R.E.P. status confirms that the content of Walden’s project management courses is in alignment with globally recognized PMI standards, which include course delivery, new course development and instructor quality evaluation.
“With this recognition from the Project Management Institute, Walden University is well positioned to provide PMI members with the valuable credentials and education they need to move forward in their careers,” said Dr. William Schulz III, associate dean of Walden’s School of Management. “Project management offers a common language and framework for managers, and Walden’s convenient and flexible online programs connect working professionals regardless of industry or geography.”
Walden University’s project management courses in the Master of Business Administration (MBA), MS in Leadership, MS in Management and MS in Project Management degree programs provide students with the business, communication and leadership skills needed to manage projects and diverse teams in order to help organizations achieve their strategic goals. These master’s-level project management courses can help prepare students for the certified Project Management Professional (PMP)® exam offered through PMI. In addition, Walden’s R.E.P. status allows those who hold a PMI professional certification to earn professional development units (PDUs) by taking individual courses or completing the full degree program.
