Minneapolis—December 10, 2008—Walden University announces the latest issue of its online peer-reviewed Journal of Social, Behavioral, and Health Sciences. The journal focuses on interdisciplinary research and practice among the social, behavioral, and health sciences and is designed to encourage the exchange of ideas between researchers and practitioners in these distinct, yet connected, disciplines. The Journal of Social, Behavioral, and Health Sciences is available at www.jsbhs.org. The Web site contains full-text versions of each article, which can be accessed or downloaded free of charge.
“Walden University’s commitment to social change is underpinned by practical research, and the Journal of Social, Behavioral, and Health Sciences is dedicated to this purpose. Articles published in the journal reflect an integrated approach to understanding and solving real-world problems,” said Jonathan A. Kaplan, president of Walden.
Articles in the Journal of Social, Behavioral, and Health Sciences are available online immediately upon successful completion of the peer-review process. Contributions from the social, behavioral, and health sciences disciplines are welcome, including psychology, public health, nursing, human services, criminal justice, social work, and sociology. Topics of journal articles may address (but are not limited to)
- Translation of theory to practice
- Information for researchers and practitioners on best practices in design, intervention, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes
- The results of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary collaboration
Dr. Daniel Weigand, associate director of the Center for Research Support, is the journal’s editor. A complete list of the journal’s editorial board can be viewed at www.jsbhs.org.
