In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Minneapolis—July 9, 2007—Walden University, an accredited online institution with 37 years of experience providing graduate-level education, has announced that it has expanded its program of need-based scholarships to now include many master's programs and its post-doctoral program in addition to its scholarships for doctoral programs. These scholarships are an extension of offerings launched earlier this year, and are the result of Walden’s desire to increase the number of practicing scholars who will solve problems in their professions and directly implement solutions to important social issues.

The Walden University Master’s Studies Scholarship will provide $2,000 per award year to new students who meet financial need criteria and enroll in the Master of Public Administration, Master of Public Health, MS in Mental Health Counseling, MS in Psychology, or MS degree in Nursing programs.
Additionally, the Walden University Post-Doctoral Studies Scholarship will provide $2,000 per award year for new Post-Doctoral Certificate in Psychology students who meet financial need criteria, renewable so long as funds are available and students meet the eligibility criteria.
Since earlier this year, Walden has awarded scholarships to more than 150 eligible new PhD and EdD students across the university through the Doctoral Studies Scholarship. They will continue to be offered to eligible students in these programs, and will be renewable so long as funds are available and students meet the eligibility criteria.
Master’s Studies Scholarship
The Walden University Master’s Studies Scholarship is available for new students in the following programs: Master of Public Administration (MPA), Master of Public Health (MPH), MS in Mental Health Counseling, MS in Psychology, MS program in Nursing.
The need-based scholarships provide $2,000 per award year, renewable so long as funds are available and students meet eligibility criteria. The deadline for submission is Aug. 28, 2007, for the Sept. 4, 2007, start date.
