Walden University’s Community College Leadership Program Helping to Produce the Next Generation of Leaders
Minneapolis—April 17, 2005—More than 40 percent of today’s K–12 school principals and superintendents will be retiring within the next 10 years, according to the National Education Association, creating not only a shortfall of qualified leaders, but also a need for quality university programs to train future ones.
In response, Walden University, an accredited online institution, is launching a Doctor of Education (EdD) with a specialization in Administrator Leadership for Teaching and Learning. Available this fall, this new Walden EdD program is designed for K–12 administrators who want to increase their ability to influence and transform their educational organizations.
Walden University’s new EdD specialization in Administrator Leadership for Teaching and Learning was created to empower instructional leaders and arm them with the education and development needed to be effective in today's K–12 school environment.
Walden University’s School of Education has over 10,000 educators pursuing Doctoral and Master’s degrees. Last year, Walden became the first-ever accredited university to undertake a study of K–12 student academic performance as a measure of the effectiveness of graduate programs.
