Dr. Walter McCollum, a 2004 graduate of Walden’s PhD in Applied Management and Decision Sciences program (now PhD in Management), is being recognized for his social change efforts around the world. Dr. McCollum has traveled to South Africa to help children whose lives have been affected by AIDS continue their education, led a delegation to rebuild houses on a reservation for indigenous people in Costa Rica, started a mentoring program for young men in Haiti, and continues to work with Haitian education officials to bring more technology into the Haitian educational system.
Dr. McCollum, a faculty member in Walden’s College of Management and Technology and past recipient of the Faculty Excellence Award, also has served in the U.S. Air Force for 13 years and is the author of five books.
