NAME: Tammy Marrs '05

DEGREE EARNED: MS in Psychology and now a PhD in Psychology student

CURRENT CAREER: Regional Clinical Director, California Psychcare

HOW DID YOU LEARN ABOUT WALDEN? I was researching online degree programs when I discovered Walden. I realized it was the perfect choice for me, since I live in a rural area and have a family. My son was diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, which was why I was first interested in psychology. Looking back, I can’t imagine having done it any other way.

WHAT DID YOU TAKE AWAY FROM THE PROGRAM? I always had new information I could apply. If one class has impacted me more than any other, it’s ethics, because I train my staff in program integrity and ethics. I’ve also been promoted several times because of what I’ve learned. Since my education has increased, my income has more than doubled.

WHY DO YOU REFER OTHERS TO WALDEN? I explained to my team that pursuing an education is very doable with a full-time job. They saw how well Walden worked for me. I feel good because I’ve mentored them. I love that they say it’s been a good experience for them.
