Survey Methodology (DATA)
Student Satisfaction Survey:
The 2015 Student Satisfaction Survey was administered as a Web-based survey to all students enrolled in courses in fall 2015. From October 12, 2015, to November 30, 2015, of the 50,452 students eligible to participate, a total of 19,673 students completed the survey for an initial response rate of 39%.
Program-specific survey information:
- MS in Criminal Justice—Of the 210 MS in Criminal Justice students who were sent the survey, a total of 75 responded, for a response rate of 35.7%.
- Doctor of Nursing Practice—Of the 915 Doctor of Nursing Practice students who were sent the survey, a total of 483 responded, for a response rate of 52.7%.
- MS in Education—Of the 1,588 MS in Education students who were sent the survey, a total of 523 responded, for a response rate of 32.9%.
The 2015 Walden Alumni Satisfaction Survey was administered as a Web-based survey to 29,249 alumni who had graduated between January 2012 and December 2014. Alumni were sent the survey on February 6, 2015, and asked to complete it by March 22, 2015. A total of 3,782 alumni responded, for a response rate of 13%.
Program-specific survey information:
- Master of Science in Nursing—Of the 6,264 Master of Science in Nursing alumni who were sent the survey, a total of 849 responded, for a response rate of 13.5%.
- Doctor of Business Administration—Of the 179 Doctor of Business Administration alumni who were sent the survey, a total of 57 responded, for a response rate of 31.8%.
- MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling—Of the 1,254 MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling alumni who were sent the survey, a total of 153 responded, for a response rate of 12.2%.
- BS in Child Development—Of the 256 BS in Child Development alumni who were sent the survey, a total of 40 responded, for a response rate of 15.6%.
- MS in Education—Of the 4,548 MS in Education alumni who were sent the survey, a total of 306 responded, for a response rate of 6.7%.
- PhD in Public Health— Of the 335 PhD in Public Health alumni who were sent the survey, a total of 85 responded, for a response rate of 25.4%.
The Walden Employer Survey is administered by the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (OIRA) to gather feedback from employers of Walden graduates. Recently, Walden graduates granted the university permission to contact their employers through the 2014 Graduation Survey, 2015 Alumni Satisfaction Survey, and Graduation Application. Employers were sent the survey on July 27, 2015, and were given until September 7, 2015, to complete it. A total of 2,634 surveys were sent out. In the end, 439 employers responded, for a response rate of 18.8%.

- Master of Science in Nursing—Of the 651 employers of Master of Science in Nursing graduates who were sent the survey, a total of 129 responded, for a response rate of 19.8%.
- Master of Public Health—Of the 72 employers of Master of Public Health graduates who were sent the survey, a total of 17 responded, for a response rate of 23.6%.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing—Of the 98 employers of Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduates who were sent the survey, a total of 18 responded, for a response rate of 18.4%.
