In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Xianbin Li received a Master in Health Sciences (biostatistics) in 2000, earned a PhD degree in population dynamics with double concentration in biostatistics and epidemiology in 2001, and earned another PhD degree in biostatistics in 2008, from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
From 2006 to present he has been working as a mathematical statistician in a government agency, providing statistical support to decision making processes. From 2001 to 2006, he was a faculty member at the Johns Hopkins University. I primarily worked for an international collaborative study in reproductive health and prevention of HIV/AIDS. As the study's principle biostatistician, his primary responsibilities included overseeing and conducting data management and analysis for complex cohort studies, developing analysis plan, preparing manuscripts for publications and presentations, and serving as a consultant for biostatistical and analytical issues. his working in this study and methodological research was rewarding and fruitful. He has published more than 20 research papers in biostatistics and epidemiology in peer-reviewed journals, including the Lancet, Biostatistics, and American Journal of Epidemiology. He loves computer-based computing and statistical analysis.
He has been teaching classes in statistics, research methods, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods, epidemiology, and public health informatics for many years and serving on doctoral students’ dissertation committees as a methodology member and occasionally as advisor/chair. At Walden, he is an adjunct faculty member in teaching and serving on thesis committees.
Him long-term goal is to apply sophisticated statistical, demographic and epidemiologic methods to the solution of biomedical and public health problems.
