In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Fletcher-Anthony has been a contributing faculty member in the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program since 2007. She teaches primarily Lifespan Development, Introduction to Mental Health Counseling, and Pre-Practicum 1. A Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State, she earned a PhD in General Psychology from Capella University and MEd in Counselor Education from Arizona State University. She also earned a TeleMental Health Training Certificate in 2021. Her professional memberships include the American Counseling Association, Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development and the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. She provides service to her community primarily through her membership with the National Association of University Women, Long Island Branch. She enjoys her role as Counselor Educator and feels honored to be a part of the professional development of emerging colleagues.
