Dr. Smith has been teaching adult students for over 25 years at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. She is a licensed social worker in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers of the National Association of Social Work. She has direct practice experience, as well as administrative, planning, and research background. Her specific areas of interest are gerontology and intergenerational issues. She has taught adult learners for over 20 years.
Dr. Smith received a BS degree in social welfare from Temple University, a master of social work degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and a doctorate in planning from the University of Pennsylvania. She serves on several social service organization boards and advisory committees. She also volunteers with a community development organization in her city.
