In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Twanda D. Wadlington received her DrPH in Behavioral and Community Health at East Tennessee State University in December 2017. She also holds an MPH in Community Health (East Tennessee State University), a Certificate in Epidemiology (East Tennessee State University), and a BA in Biology (Fisk University). In addition to serving as Contributing DrPH (Public Health) Faculty at Walden University, Dr. Wadlington currently serves as MPH PT Faculty at Columbia Southern University, public health adjunct faculty at UNT Dallas, Senior Director of Development at My Health My Resources (MHMR) of Tarrant County. Dr. Wadlington also serves as the Executive Director of MHMR Foundation.
Dr. Wadlington began as a graduate research and teaching assistant at East Tennessee State University in 2010, where she taught Gerontology and Health, Introduction to Community Health, and Introduction to Public Health. In 2013, Dr. Wadlington joined LeMoyne-Owen College as an adjunct (PT) faculty member, in which she taught introductory public health courses (Community Health, Public Health, Epidemiology, Environmental Health), Social Statistics, Research Methods, and Senior Capstone. Professionally, Dr. Wadlington has worked as a health and wellness campus director at a liberal arts college, a researcher in government and university-based research settings, a federally-funded food security regional campaign manager, and a regional cancer coalition coordinator.
