In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Timothy Gandee is the Associate Dean at Walden University for the MBA and MS Leadership programs. Dr. Gandee received his Doctor of Business Administration in business strategy and innovation from Capella University. He received an MBA from Davenport University and holds two undergraduate degrees, one in accounting information systems and one in electrical engineering technology. Prior to beginning his career in higher education, he worked for 30 years in the automotive supply sector, where he worked in various areas such as: engineering, quality, operations, and regulatory compliance. At the time of his early retirement, he was the Corporate Director of Product Assurance and Regulatory Compliance for a large global tier-one automotive supplier. Tim has published several academic papers and contributed to a textbook on quality management. He also holds two U.S. patents pertaining to automotive safety restraints.
