Dr. Tenisha Phillips (Dr. T) received her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision at Capella University. She is now contributing faculty in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Walden University. Dr. Phillips started as an adjunct professor for undergrad students in Psychology and Human Services programs at other universities in 2017 and has since facilitated learning for universities in the Chicagoland area and beyond. Dr. Phillips also works with students on their dissertations and publishing in counseling journals. She is a licensed clinical professional counselor and national certified counselor. Professionally, Dr. Phillips is passionate about mental health, health and wellness and social justice. She is the owner and founder of PhillipsSims LLC, PhillipsSims Wellness, and The Millie Pearl Foundation. It is here that she focuses on socioeconomic and health equity for disenfranchised and marginalized communities. As a clinical mental health counselor, she has worked in hospitals, community agencies, private practice and crisis centers. She is passionate about social justice advocacy and research that impacts our health and mental health in everyday life.
Dr. Phillips is an international conference presenter and researcher on licensed professional counselors and social justice advocacy. She is lastly a registered yoga instructor.
