Here's a little about me: I have been a Nurse at heart for 20+ years and a family/psychiatric nurse practitioner by trade. I received most of my education from Winston Salem University and my Post Masters Certificate in Psychiatry from the University of Cincinnati. Soon after that, I completed my doctoral program at Frontier Nursing University, with a project emphasis on increasing depression screenings in primary care. My wealth of experience varies from inpatient, outpatient, primary care, integrative medication, children and adolescents, and substance abuse. In addition, I have been precepting and teaching nurse practitioner students for almost ten years encouraged me to pursue my doctorate. Some things I like to do for fun are nursing, traveling, teaching, and fitness. Remember, it's a job if you do something you hate daily. If you are doing something you love every day, it's a passion.
