Sylvia L. Kirgis received her Doctor of Nursing Practice in December of 2020, and her MSN as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in 2007. She is currently a locum tenens acute care nurse practitioner specializing in cardiothoracic surgery and critical care. She is joining the Walden University team in 2021 as a part time faculty member for the adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner program. Professionally she has worked as an acute care nurse practitioner since 2007 in the cardiothoracic specialty. She has extensive experience in technical procedures including central line, arterial line, thoracostomy tube, and intubation. Research interests include enhanced recovery, early mobility, and pain management.
