In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Wodzinski received his doctorate in counselor education and supervision from the University of the Cumberlands in August of 2022. He has worked as a licensed mental health counselor at the Tampa Veterans Administration since 2009. In 2024, he was hired as a contributing faculty member at Walden University to teach in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Dr. Wodzinski has been licensed as a mental health counselor in Florida since 2005 and is a qualified supervisor of mental health counselor interns in Florida. He is also certified as an addictions professional, rehabilitation counselor, and a telemental health provider. He is a member of several counseling associations, including the American Counseling Association. Dr. Wodzinski’s research interests include co-morbid chronic pain and mental health disorders, substance use disorders, veteran trauma, and clinical supervision of counselors. Professionally, he has worked with multiple populations in several different milieus, including inpatient, outpatient, and an emergency department.
