Dr. Stephanie Schaefer is a National Board Certified teacher and a certified educator in two states with a variety of teaching certification. She has over ten years of experience working at the college level teaching writing, and over seven years of experience working as a math, science, and computer science teacher both in online, blended learning, and in-person settings. At Walden, Steph is an adjunct instructor teaching STEM and Educational Technology classes. Steph's research areas of interest include algebraic representations on assessments, the evolution of mathematical standards, online education, and integrating technology into the classroom. Steph's doctoral dissertation research in studying New York State algebra assessments received AERA's Division H Research, Evaluation, and Assessment in Schools Outstanding Dissertation Award in 2021. She is an active presenter in local, state, and national conferences, and also provides professional development training to teachers in technology, STEM education, National Board Certification, and adult education.
