Dr. Startasha Dillard joined Walden University in July 2021 as a Contributing Faculty Member in the School of Counseling and Human Services. She went to Argosy University and earned her EdD in counselor education and supervision.

She is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Virginia and DC. She is a certified addiction counselor in DC. She has over 16 years of experience in the behavioral health field. She has worked in a variety of different settings: inpatient, outpatient, private practice, residential, and more. She has worked with individuals with both mental health and substance use disorders. She served in the army national guard for 9 years.

Her professional interests include substance use, self-care, advocacy, interprofessional education in counseling, microaggressions in the workplace and transition for newly graduate counselor educators.
