In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.
Disclaimers: Walden students have up to 8 years to complete their doctoral program unless they petition for an extension.
In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Staci McPhaul is a highly experienced professional with a strong background in educational psychology. Throughout her impressive 12+ career, she has held various roles that have allowed her to make a significant impact on the underrepresented population.
Her dedication to serving others is evident through her work in advising, case management and teaching within secondary institutions and nonprofit organizations. While at Walden University, Dr. McPhaul showcased her expertise as a Postdoctoral Teaching and Research Fellowship member. She continues to contribute her knowledge and skills as a valuable member of Walden University's contributing faculty.
Dr. McPhaul's research interests revolve primarily around teacher quality and preparation and educational psychology. She has been an active presenter at numerous seminars and conferences, sharing her insights and contributing to the field.
