In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Ford earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Old Dominion University, her Master of Science in School Counseling from the Johns Hopkins University, and her Doctor of Education in Counseling Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. She holds two Certificates of Advanced Graduate Studies from the Johns Hopkins University in Clinical Community Counseling and Teaching in Higher Education.
Dr. Ford is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), National Certified School Counselor (NCSC), and Board Certified Telemental Health Provider (BC-TMH).
Dr. Ford has been a Contributing Faculty member in the School of Counseling at Walden University since 2011.
