Dr. Simone Salandy is an experienced survey statistician and epidemiologist whose expertise is quantitative methods and analyses. Dr. Salandy applies expertise in demography, statistics, and epidemiology to the design and implementation of large complex health surveys. Dr. Salandy also provides statistical and methodological guidance in the development of research topics related to chronic disease, health promotion/behaviors and tobacco surveillance in an international and domestic setting. Dr. Salandy has served as a senior health scientist at the CDC Division of Behavior Surveillance (DBS) on the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey (BRFSS) and also has served as a statistician at the University of North Carolina and as a senior research fellow at the US Environmental Protection Agency.
Dr. Salandy’s research interest includes environmental health, tobacco surveillance, chronic disease, vulnerable populations and health promotion.
