Shelby I DeWitt received her Post Master's Certificate and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee in 2020. She is an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for the inpatient Palliative Care team for Trinity Health Physician Partners. She has served in this role since September 2019. Professionally, Dr. DeWitt began her career as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit and the Emergency Room in 2005 and then worked as an Intensive Care Unit Manager and Director. She received her Master's in Nursing Education from Michigan State University in 2010. Dr. DeWitt is a Contributing Faculty Member for the Master's in Nursing Education and Nursing Executive Programs in the traditional and Tempo learning format. She teaches Perspectives on Graduate Study for Advancing Practice, Essentials of Evidence-based Practice, and Finance and Economics in Healthcare Delivery.
