Sharon G. Phillips received her MSN/Family Nurse Practitioner from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA in May 1998. She currently works as a Post-Acute Nurse Practitioner for Sound Physicians in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has been in this role since April 2015 in which she is dedicated to delivering direct patient care, family education, and precepting nurse practitioner students. She has been instrumental in assisting with the development and implementation of telemedicine in 2019 for acute management of skilled nursing residents. Prior to this role, she worked at United Health Group for thirteen years as a Clinical Service Manager and Clinical Advisor. She had direct supervision and fiscal management of several teams of nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social services, and utilization management. She also managed a statewide on-call team of nurse practitioners and provided training, education and mentoring for the successful implementation of an on-call technological platform to allow call coverage across various states. She has developed and implemented clinical education for multidisciplinary teams in hospital, rehabilitation, and post-acute settings. She is currently a member of AANP, ANCC, OAANP and GAPNA. She is actively involved in community outreach by volunteering at a local food pantry and participation in community health fairs.
