Samantha Franke
Dr. Samantha Cole, MSW, DSW LCSW, is a private practice clinical social worker currently licensed in both Vermont and New York State. Dr. Cole held a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Morgan State University in 1998 and completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work with a clinical specialization from the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1999. Dr. Cole completed her Doctorate in Social Work in 2018 through Walden University College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Cole is currently a participant in the Post-Doctoral Walden Fellowship Program as an instructor for doctoral social work students. Dr. Cole has been active in clinical social work since 1998 serving both adults and children in several states that include Virginia, Maryland, New York, Massachusetts, and Vermont. In her private practice, Dr. Cole has provided countless individuals with access to mental health services and tools to empower those in her care. In recent years, Dr. Cole has focused on action research that explores the barriers faced by clinical social workers who provide substance use services for rural young adults that reside in Delaware County, New York. Within her community, Dr. Cole is on the executive board of directors for the United Way of Sidney New York and serves to gather educational information for the Tri-Town Coalition on Substance Use Prevention (COSAP). The mission of COSAP is to reduce and prevent substance use through awareness, education and community action within local rural upstate New York communities. Dr. Cole is passionate about child advocacy and in her community has volunteered time to the Tri-Town Youth Club and also served as a youth mentor for Catholic Charities. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, gardening, and cooking. Dr. Cole also enjoys spending quality time with her three amazing sons.
