Sade Dunn

Hello! My name is Dr. Sadé (Sha-Day) Dunn, I go by Dr. or Professor Dunn. I am an approved supervisor and Licensed Professional Counselor/Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. I graduated from Governors State and Bowie State University. I was previously a Maryland Counseling Association Emerging Leader for the 2020- 2021 year and also served on the Maryland Counselors for Social Justice board as the counselor representative and treasurer and I also served as the secretary for the MCA ALGBTQ board from 2015 until 2018. I have over 12 years of experience in the mental health field and am trained in EMDR therapy, yoga, mindfulness, meditation, and CBT. I have worked in outpatient mental health clinics, substance abuse treatment programs, private practices, higher education facilities and also alternative schools. My husband and I own a OMHC in Clinton, MD. I am also an Assistant Professor at Bowie State University in the Counseling program. My area of research interests are maternal mental health, fertility, ADHD, identity development and positive parenting initiatives.

Now here's the good part (lol)! I am a wife and a mom of two beautiful girls one that is 10 and one that is 2 months and 3 weeks old. I love being with my family and just hanging out with them. I am a Reiki Level II Practitioner and registered yoga teacher at the 200 level. Reiki is a holistic energy healing practice that promotes balance by helping to free the chakras of any blockages. It promotes clarity, is very relaxing and clients feel restored afterward. I will be finishing up my yoga studies in order to become a registered yoga teacher at the 500 level. In my free time, I like to to engage in healthy self-care initiatives that include spending time with my family, going to the movies, reading, practicing yoga, and exercising.
