Roger McKinney

Interim President

Roger McKinney was named interim president of Walden University in December 2021. In his role as interim president, McKinney focuses on enhancing the end-to-end Walden student experience, expanding access to flexible degree program options, and ensuring student success through graduation and career growth.

Prior to this appointment, McKinney served as vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Laureate Education’s Online, Partnerships and U.S. Campus Institutions, including Walden University. During his 11-year tenure with Laureate, McKinney developed and led all aspects of financial operations and shared services, which included financial aid, bursar, and collections.

With over 35 years of experience, McKinney has also served as interim president of NewSchool of Architecture and Design and was a member of the Board of Directors of Les Roches School of Hotel Management Switzerland and Kendall College in Chicago.

McKinney holds a BSBA in Accounting from Western Carolina University.
