Dr. Meyer was first licensed as a clinical psychologist in Illinois in 1983. Dr. Meyer has provided clinical and forensic psychological service over the course of his career. Dr. Meyer has served as an expert witness providing testimony regarding psychological matters well over 200 of times in both criminal and civil matters. Dr. Meyer is a licensed sex offender evaluator and has conducted over a 100 sex offender evaluation.

Dr. Meyer has had an academic appointment at Northern Illinois University department of clinical psychology ,from 2004 to 2010. For the past 10 years Dr. Meyer has been a contributing faculty member at Walden university.
