Dr. Quinton Ming’s formal training is in nursing leadership where he has served various roles over his 25+ years of nursing. He holds two national certification awarded by the National League for Nursing: Certified Nurse Educator & Certified Academic Clinical Nurse Educator. Dr. Ming was one of the Lead Coordinators for the implementation of a newly implemented heart failure protocol in one of the largest healthcare organizations in Alabama. In addition, Dr. Ming has served on various organizations' interdisciplinary committees reviewing organizational policies and procedures to ensure that best practice standards are developed and implemented based on evidence-based research and quality improvement initiatives. Over the last 10 years he has taught in ASN, BSN & MSN programs. For the last 5 years he has been teaching MSN students at Walden University in the Nursing Leadership and Evidence-Based Practice courses.

His passion is helping MSN students learn how to use research and evidence to guide their decisions in practice, ultimately impacting safety and patient outcomes. Lastly, his teaching philosophy is based off of Malcolm Knowles Andragogy adult learning theory. He believes his role as a nurse educator is to help graduate level nursing students to understand how to critically analyze and evaluate evidence-based literature/ data to create sound evidence-based strategies to guide them in their nursing practice and organization to meet both professional and organizational goals.
