Melissa Taylor
Dr. Melissa Taylor's field of study has revolved around nursing and nursing education. She holds advanced degrees in educational leadership as well as nursing education. Her expertise is medical-surgical nursing and nursing leadership. She has worked as a medical-surgical Registered Nurse for over 20 years and has held clinical and assistant professor positions at both brick and mortar and online institutions, public and private for over 14 years. She has taught at the ADN, BSN, and MSN levels, as well as participating as a DNP committee member for DNP students. Melissa continues to contribute to the nursing community through precepting students in the hospital, writing and building simulation and education materials for private companies, and serving on nursing committees at Walden and in professional organizations. She is a member of the South Carolina Nursing Education and Simulation Alliancem(SCNESA), the American Nurses Association (ANA), the South Carolina Nurses Association (SCNA), the International Nurses Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) and the Golden Key International Honor Society. She has received both the Lexington Medical Center Gold Award and the South Carolina Palmetto Gold Award, both of which recognized excellence in nursing practice. She has also received institutional awards for faculty excellence.
