In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. I am a community policing and Organizational Management expert with 25+ years of experience in law enforcement as an administrator and trainer. I enjoyed a twenty-five-year career as a law enforcement officer, manager, and administrator in the Nation’s Capital. I served as the college's Executive Director of Public Safety and Security. I have held numerous leadership positions in law enforcement, homeland security, and higher education.
I have been teaching and training in some form or the other for over twenty-five years. I have taught leadership, management, ethics, business, criminal justice, and computer forensics (NCIS type) courses. I was a gubernatorial appointee on the Maryland Handgun Roster Board from 2017 to 2019.
I previously taught Homeland Security, emergency management, and business ethics at several different educational institutions. When I am not teaching, I travel around the country as a Consultant, training police and firefighters in management, leadership, and ethics. I am committed to lifelong learning.
