For the past eleven years, Matthew R. Shupp has been a Professor in the Department of Counselor Education at Shippensburg University and is currently an adjunct instructor in Walden University's Department of Nursing. He is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania, a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in Maryland, a national certified counselor (NCC), board certified as a tele-mental health provider (BC-TMH), an approved clinical supervisor (ACS), and an EMDR-trained therapist. He received his Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Widener University and his masters (Counseling: College Student Personnel) and bachelors (Psychology) degrees from Shippensburg University. He is past-president of the PA College Personnel Association. Research interests include effective supervision practices and is the co-author of the text "Inclusive Supervision in Student Affairs: A Model for Professional Practice." He is a former student affairs professional and has presented at the local, regional, national, and international levels as well as published numerous manuscripts in reputable journals.
