Mary Ward
Dr. Ward’s entire career has been in education. This experience began with teaching the hearing impaired and becoming a certified interpreter for the deaf, then transitioned to teaching students with emotional and behavior challenges and becoming a board certified behavior analyst. Earning her Ph.D. lead to providing therapeutic and intervention services in the public and private sector and her start in higher education in 1999. Her focus in higher education is stress management and improving student engagement for retention. Dr. Ward is a full-time Professor for the Social Sciences department at Georgia Military College in Augusta Georgia. At Georgia Military, Dr. Ward is the Department Chair for the First Year Experience program, Coordinator for the Psychology program, and faculty chair of the American Sign Language Club. Dr. Ward has been a contributing faculty member for Walden University’s undergraduate online program since 2008.
