Dr. Mary Anne Ramirez is a certified nurse midwife, educator, and administrator. She currently resides in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Ramirez' (ak Rea-Ramirez) education includes: EdD, University of MA, Amherst; MS, University of MA, Amherst; Certification in Nurse Midwifery, Georgetown University; BS in Nursing, Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Ramirez has been actively involved in college teaching, college administration, online teaching, educational research, professional development, software development, grant management, and educational consulting. Her research in education involves in-depth study of cognition and learning, particularly in the area of model based learning and teaching, gamification, and innovative pedagogy for higher education. She is currently active in human rights education in the Middle East and North Africa, working with a 501c3 organization, Hardwired Global.
