Dr. Garrett is an educator, supervisor, and clinician with over 18 years of clinical experience, 10 years of supervision experience, and 2 years in higher education. Dr. Garrett has experience working in hospitals, schools and community health agencies. She holds her LPC in Ohio and Virginia and is a Registered Play Therapy -Supervisor.
At Walden University Dr. Garrett is a contributing faculty member. Dr. Garrett was a NBCC Minority Fellow for 2020 and a member of Chi Sigma Iota, American Counseling Association, Association for Play Therapy, Virginia Association of Play Therapy, Virginia Counseling Association, and Virginia Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.

Dr. Garrett is currently in private practice in Central Virginia.
