Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

Dr. Verklan has served in various roles over her 35+ year career. She has taught at Master's and Doctoral programs since 1993, both in classroom and online. Her academic career included quantitative research in the area of low- and high-risk neonates as they transition to extrauterine life. Her clinical career includes bedside and advanced practice roles in neonatal intensive care units. Dr. Verklan is also a healthcare consultant and works with organization nationally and internationally to improve the healthcare delivered to neonates. She has over 50 clinical and research publications, and serves as a reviewer/editor for a number of perinatal/neonatal and research journals. She has chaired dissertations and scholarly capstone DNP projects, as well as being a committee member and URR. Dr. Verklan teachesd in both PhD and DNP programs.
