In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Huff is a student mentor. Originally from Brooklyn NY, Dr. Huff currently resides in Allentown, PA. Dr. Huff obtained his undergraduate degree in Social Work from Long Island University (Brooklyn), where he also played Division 1 NCAA basketball and graduate with honors. He attended Graduate school at Syracuse University and obtained his Masters of Social Work, then went on to pursue his Doctorate of Social Work degree at Capella University. Dr. Huff has been involved in social work for over 20-years, in various capacities. In his roles as Program Director, he has developed coordinated and implemented programs and activities – as a clinician, familiarized himself with and implemented sound evidence-based therapeutic techniques. Dr. Huff has a wealth of experience working with youth, in residential care, community-based, hospital and therapeutic settings. He is also a grant writer. Dr. Huff has experience working in higher education as an Academic Advisor for graduate level students at Hunter College (New York) and an Associate Professor for undergraduate level students for the Psychology Department at Touro College (New York). He has written articles on Childhood Development and Educational Advancement for minorities and taught courses in Social Work, Human Services and Psychology on topics that include: Intro to Social Work, Psychology of Families, Childhood Development, Developmental Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Health Psychology and Theories and Techniques of Counseling. Dr. Huff Leisure activities include: Research, grant writing, reading, camping, playing basketball and mentoring troubled youth.
