In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Lila Jordan has been teaching for more than ten years in higher education. Dr. Jordan received a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a dual master's degree in Human Resources/Business and Industry and School Counseling. Both from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. She received a doctorate degree in Management in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. Additionally, Dr. Jordan received a Certificate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Dr. Jordan holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification (SPHR), a Certified Coach Practitioner Certification (CCP), is a Licensed School Counselor and Licensed School Principal. Dr. Jordan is the founder and CEO of a nonprofit organization, which supports traditional college students between the ages of 18-30 that are single parents so they remain in school and graduate. This is accomplished through mentoring, career counseling and other services to support their success.
