Leah A. Grebner received her PhD in Health Services with a concentration in Community Health Promotion and Education at Walden University in May 2014. She currently serves as a dissertation chair for the College of Health Services at Walden University as of April 2021. Professionally, Dr. Grebner has worked in Health Information Management Education for 20 years and has worked in the Health Information Management field for over 30 years. She has had extensive volunteer service with the American Health Information Management Association in areas including health literacy, consumer engagement in healthcare, education, and accreditation. She has co-authored several publications for the Journal of the American Health Information Management Association as well as three textbooks. In 2012, Dr. Grebner received the Literary Legacy award from the American Health Information Management Association. In addition to her PhD, Dr. Grebner also holds the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentials.
