In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Leah A. Grebner received her PhD in Health Services with a concentration in Community Health Promotion and Education at Walden University in May 2014. She currently serves as a dissertation chair for the College of Health Services at Walden University as of April 2021. She also teaches Healthcare Administration Concepts courses. Professionally, Dr. Grebner has worked in Health Information Management Education for over 25 years and has worked in the Health Information Management field for over 35 years. She has had extensive volunteer service with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) in areas including healthcare advocacy, health literacy, consumer engagement in healthcare, education, and accreditation. She has co-authored several publications for the Journal of the American Health Information Management Association as well as three textbooks. In 2012, Dr. Grebner received the Literary Legacy award from the American Health Information Management Association. In addition to her PhD, Dr. Grebner also holds the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentials and she is a Fellow of the American Health Information Management Association (FAHIMA).
